Safety Awareness Day: talking together, moving forward together
This week at Safe, led by our safety specialist Tamara Mourits, we kicked off Safety Awareness Day a day early with a range of activities. On Tuesday 24 March, office staff, field staff and management all competed enthusiastically in our Safety Awareness quiz, organised in the style of a pub quiz. Ten teams took up the challenge — with great enthusiasm and a healthy dose of safety awareness.
In addition, senior management and line managers engaged in discussions with colleagues from Logistics and the Technical Department. Using discussion cards, we spoke openly and honestly about questions such as:
🔹 What do you expect from managers when it comes to safety?
🔹 What specific changes can we, as management, make?
🔹 Which safety measures do you understand in theory, but find difficult to implement in practice?
These discussions led to good conversations and valuable insights. We made a conscious effort to ensure all our colleagues felt included — including those who are less proficient in Dutch.
At the end of the sessions, everyone received a small first-aid kit: a practical reminder that safety is something we must continue to ensure together, every day, because accidents can happen in the blink of an eye.
On the official ‘Bewust Veilig’ Day, Wednesday 25 March, several members of the Management Team and our senior management will visit the construction site to have these discussions with our installation teams as well.
Together, we are building a safe workplace — step by step, conversation by conversation.
We are not only building projects, but we also work on a safer working day for everyone.
