Twan’s Retirement
Last Tuesday, our colleague Twan van Veghel retired.
After 48.5 years of continuous service – the last 18.5 of which he devoted himself fully to Safe – he is bringing an impressive chapter to a close and starting a new one.
During the party, we marked the occasion in a lovely way with a short quiz about Twan and his working life at Safe. There was plenty of laughter, particularly when asked how many training programmes and courses were actually listed on his original CV. The correct answer: no fewer than 36. Nobody got it right.
Twan has left a significant mark on Safe Belgium. He began by breaking new ground in the southern Netherlands and then, year after year, helped build Safe’s position amongst our Belgian neighbours to the south. For fifteen years, he oversaw countless impressive projects. Together with his colleague William, he secured major contracts and laid the foundations for lasting partnerships and trust — project after project. A career of which he can rightly be proud.
Twan, thank you for your tremendous dedication, knowledge and commitment. We wish you a retirement filled with wonderful travels and other plans.
Warm regards,
The whole Safe team
